NLÖ  1990: Millweir in Ochsendorf with two riverbed earth slides and an a tailrace made of concrete.

Plannings and realisations:
Since the 14.04.2008 there is the following planning of the  Watermaintance collective Schunter as employer and the Niedersächsischen Landesbetriebes für Wasserwirtschaft, Küsten und Naturschutz (Country office for water economy, coast- and nature-conservation for lower-saxony - NLWKN) being built up : a rock fishway replaces the weir (picture on the left below) and dissipates the incline towards the L 290 ab. The mill channel is being closed by a dam. Thus the whole discharge will flow down the new fishway and the so-called "Hilmarchute", a small natural riverbed that developed about 3 years ago. This is the best solution for all water-bound creatures und thus a big step for the efforts of salmon-reintroduction in the river Schunter. So far there was now fishway at this place. In the map of the area , that was provided by the NLWKN the planning is detailed to be seen.

Personal notice 17.04.2008:
In the meantime the waterright, that is neccessary to trade the mill,  has been released so that fish-losses as documetet below are history. The damage of only one day at that place that ist shown on the picture makes clear that engery out of hydropower is not purely environmentally acceptable.

Personal notice 23.10.02:
The mill channel (picture on the left above) is often run dry  - Statement of the operator: malfunction. Upstream large areas then fell dry. In spring 2002 for the first time there were found young salmon-smolts that were killed by the turbine.  So far the weir that is about 2,5 meters high (picture below) hinders any kind of migration.

The construction works have good progress instead of the very wet weather.
